Miss Ruby Farrence shoot.

Don't fight fire with Fire. You only get a bigger Fire.

My old Zippo.... Noting the metallic effect, I decided to go a wee' bit crazy.

Never trust a man, with egg on his face. (Adam Ant Shoot)

Upon going to an Adam Ant concert, I did take many photos; and was soon to notice that many other Adam Ant photos had not been heavily edited to create some kind of Androgynous effect. So I thought I would give it a go. Lots of contrast, added colouring, HTR effects... I could go on.

A certain naïve charm

Very strange photo- clearly a lot of editing that I've used, but with all the make-up and beautiful weirdness, I felt it appropriate.

Playing with Coffee

I was making my daily morning coffee, when I realised the milk and blackness of a coffee- blending in, could actually make a very good pictures; so grabbing my camera and pouring milk in, I found that my first instinct was correct.

David LaChapelle's Alan Cumming's shoot.

In 2009, David LaChapelle shocked his viewers with his new project of what he called 'Homography'- In other words many pictures of men- with a more feminine touch...
His most shocking and eye-candy shoot was with the famous Scottish actor David Cumming's- Famous for his west-end and theatre, as well as appearing as some strange in his wide variety of films.

It's clear to see, that these two explosive minds working together, made a beautiful mess of pictures.
With Cumming's posing with extreme femininity with killer heels, 10 pounds of make up and outfits that would put Frank N' Furter to shame.
The photography that LaChapelle produced is surprisingly simple, letting the atmosphere and bizarre clothing speak for itself. Altogether it's a very well put out shoot.

Hedi Slimane's Rock Diary.

Hedi Slimane- A well known french photographer, famous for fashion photography in magazines such as Vogue and Catwalk fashion photography.
However, the work I find particularly interesting is his long term project entitled 'Rock Diary'- In which Slimane travels to destinations with world famous people or Rock bands.

One of my favourites is his Courtney Love photoshoot. Yes it's Rock and Roll, yes it's stunning to look at, but when you look closely you can see the deep and disturbing side of Love- Her arms practically skellitorian, her pupils dilated, her clothes rugged.

Another very good 'Rock' photoshoot he has done is his Miles Kane shoot. Very dimly done, but effective, yet again Black and White photography and high contrast, it's relaxing to see, but still reeks of  rock and roll.

Hedi Slimane's Pete Doherty's shoot.

Pete Doherty- A well known 'Rock and Roll Star'... It's almost as if someone took all the drugs, drink and dirt from the old 60' and 70's rock bands such as Rolling Stones and created a love child, to show off the dirty side of Rock. Despite his boyish- looks, and clearly lost ways (with all the substances and what not) he somehow manages to create perfection in Rock music, performing to a amazing standard despite his pupils being wide with more than just adrenalin.

Hedi Slimane captures Pete's essence perfectly in his 2004 photoshoot, backstage at a BabyShambles gig. His use of Black and White and Contrast are captivating, and really give the vintage Rock effect, which we lack now days in modern photography.

Irony

Irony at it's best...

Portland Arms- Pjs Gig.

In May, Accomplished Cambridge based rock band 'Lady Gray' stole the show once again, with their outlandish guitar riffs, heavy bass riffs, over-exaspeting drumming (Bible- the drummer never fails to put on a show with his spinning of sticks and never-caustiously standing on his drum kit) And the raw, velvety voice of the lead singer, his northern twang putting all ears to bliss.
They played a set of 5 songs along with a highly requested Encore; as you may have noticed by the pictures, it was a Pj's gig. The band went all out- dressing in onsies much to the delight of the crowd. However they all regretted it daffily as after the 1st song and powerful heated lights, a shower of sweat seems to appear; but like the troopers they were, ignored the heat and still performed a mind blasting show.
